The TV is excellent - there is a hint of ghosting but probably because my source isn't hi-def.
The sound is average - at above medium levels there is vibration. I bought a surround system from amazon and now it's great.

This is an excellent product: good picture, very easy to set up, and very fair sound. Plenty of input connections. The only weakness is that it has no audio phono output, only a headphone socket (but you can buy a headphone to phono adaptor very cheaply). Highly recommended.

I am not a "Techi" and so I read many of the helpful reviews before buying this TV. Firstly Amazon did a great job on delivery speed and quality of customer service and the TV is just great value. The product is high quality, well packaged so no damage on delivery and IF YOU READ THE INSTRUCTIONS it it easy to assembly the stand and you are ready to switch on!!
It is logical, it is simple and IT WORKS!!! What more can you want? Many mention the EPG and yes it is annoying but a small price to pay for the overall package. I have now advanced to a wall mounting (a challenge for me) and once you work out that you take the stand off (silly eh!) it is even better wall mounted.
Overall great value and I would recommend this product to anyone wanting such a TV.

I bought this TV based on the Brand name but was very disappointed.
We had it connected to a Toshiba HDD/CD machine and whenever we recorded something and played it back it would not play back on full screen and often the picture was very flecked.
We also found that if we were recording a programme to the HD and watched another programme on either BBC1 or 2 we would lose the signal and get a cracking sound. We often got a notice appearing on the screen saying "No Video Signal Available".
Although the handset was very user friendly the TV did not match up to our expectations.

Purchased tv in august 2009 from a local currys store. I had read reviews and was happy to purchase. Unfortunately I have experienced a couple of problems in the past few weeks. One is the tv loses its sound and a high pitched noise is heard and the tv will not operate until you have switched the plug off and re switched on. Secondly on watching a program where an audience was clapping there hands at a rapid speed which was not normal (checked on our main sony tv in other room and that was ok) Apparantly Toshiba deal with there own repairs so had to call them direct. Nothing is being done. I was told the tv can speed up like that and you can get ghosting too as its not a top tv. As far a the high pitched noise is concern they didnt want to know and told to ring when it happens. Very bad customer service. Wish I had gone with another sony tv instead. Let down so wont buy another Toshiba product.
